Among the Trees

Every now and again I get one of those design projects that I want to slam down onto my portfolio like a Draw 4 card in the hands of an ultra-competitive uncle. As is usually the case, this was the result of working with very smart people. Among The Trees Lodging owns and operates several treehouse accommodations around Hocking Hills, Ohio and are completing a redesign of their interiors and identity this month. The most common adjective in their reviews is “magical”, so I had the significant challenge of making their visual branding match the experience. But I feel really good about the result.

Below is a collection of the logomarks and iconography that will grace their materials going forward. The sampling of imagery from the brand guidelines created for their creative team features lovely architectural photos taken by the talented Heather Shirey. A series of illustrations and alternate icons were also created for additional printed materials that welcome guests to their temporary forest home. Made sense to us that the concierge would have feathers and hoot.
